WHY A MEMBERS CLUB?

In seeking the right environment in which to enjoy golf, individual needs vary.  Wrotham Heath Golf Club offers all the benefits of a traditional Golf Club but also prides itself on being progressive.

  • The Club is run by and for its members
  • The annual fee depends on distance from the club and frequency of play, permitting members to play when they want
  • The number of societies and visitors play is closely restricted to allow the fullest access by members
  • Traditional values regarding the Rules of Golf, conduct, golfing etiquette and dress are keenly maintained
  • There is no need to book tee times if you wish to play (subject to the needs of the Course Diary)
  • With membership of all sections limited to 500 in total, the Club is compact enough to enable new members to quickly integrate and meet existing members
  • The Club prides itself on offering a friendly atmosphere in which to play golf
  • Competitions for all sections, Ladies, Gentlemen, Veterans and Juniors, are held frequently

MEMBERSHIP

Membership numbers are limited to ensure the course is not which with the benefit of having two starting points enables a good flow even at busy times with rounds rarely taking longer than 3½ hours.

At present, there are a few vacancies for membership available and an application for membership can be made online, by post or in person at the Club.  Members come from all walks of life and prospective members may not need to have a proposer.

An informal discussion will be arranged with a Committee Member and if a prospective member does not know any existing members a ‘buddy’ will be allocated to ensure he/she are integrated into the Club and enjoy the full benefits of Wrotham Heath. Joining a new club without knowing anybody may seem a daunting prospect but we pride ourselves on our friendliness and you will never go short of a game with a member.

New members will be invited to a New Members Day event within six months of joining, which will include meeting and playing golf with other new and existing members.

Apart from the regular club competitions, there are number of “roll-ups” and ‘swindles” which operate during the week and weekends suitable for all handicap abilities. The Professional, Proposer or Buddy or of any new member will be glad to help in the introduction to the appropriate group.

Another benefit of membership at Wrotham is that the club has reciprocal arrangements with Bearsted, Lamberhurst and Cherry Lodge as well as 42 clubs throughout the Country where members can play for no charge or at a greatly reduced green fee.
